Artist's Description
This is a photograph of a magnolia tree with the sun shining in the late afternoon on the tree in a lovely way bringing out the natural color of the tree trunk and garden. Here in Sydney Australia where I live magnolias bloom in the last month of winter so the blossoms are a beautiful reminder that Spring is just around the corner and winter is nearly over. In my neighborhood there are many magnolia trees so my daily walks are extra special around this time of the year.
I have tweeked the color in this photo using a digital medium so as to further highlight the sun shining in the garden as in the original photo it wasn't so obvious. Have found that often photos don't do justice to the reality of what's being viewed so to tweek photos to me seems perfectly justified in many cases.
