Description
This is a photograph or a group of wild cockatoos grazing on the grass in the late afternoon in the park opposite from where I live. Many of these birds are living in the park and in my local area in Sydney. The area I live in has lots of large trees and nature reserves that these birds love to live in and these birds are a great source of fun and amusement to the neighboring residents, who frequently visit this parks especially in the evenings when the parrots come down to feed on grass roots etc.
Sulphur Crested cockatoos are extremely intelligent birds and have been know to live up to 70 yrs in captivity. I've heard them talk as pets and see them as they visit my balcony and check it out with their curious natures. For me they are a reminder of many a lovely holidays I've had in the Sydney National Park reserves down south from where I lived, before I moved to this area where I've lived now since 2002. In those days I lived in the Sydney CBD so had little exposure to the Australian bush wild life and the only exposure I had was when holidaying down south in amongst the birds, goannas and all the rest of that which encompassed camping in the Royal National Parklands south of Sydney. Lovely memories which included these birds.
I've added some effects and digital tweeking to enchance the color and definition of this image.
