Description
I bought this blue agate gemstone a long, long time ago as part of a key chain. I took the stone of the key chain since I felt it was bit too fragile for this and also too beautiful to risk breaking or scratching. Soon after a good friend of mine came to visit me and saw this stone and picked it up to admire it more closely. After my friend left I noticed this stone had almost lost its colour completely, exhibiting the palest of blue only. I was shocked and disappointed and felt almost like I'd been robbed, not understanding what had happened. About a week later the colour had completely returned to this stone and it was its usual glorious deeper blue self with a tinge of white up on its left hand corner.
Some time after that I went into a new age shop with lots of new age stuff for sale including more crystals and gem stones. I had a nice chat with someone who worked there and who had had experience with the this kind of 'magic', and I told them about what had happened previously with this stone. She explained to me that some quartz and gemstones give of themselves where needed and that the energy transmitted or exchanged explained the loss of colour. I knew of colour healing, so for me this kind of made sense. I also knew about quartz transmitting, amplifying and storing energy. Since that experience this stone has only ever lost all its colour another time......but it came back about a week later as before.....to my continued amazement. Such an incredible happening and still very mysterious and magical for me.
This is why I've called this image 'Hidden'. What is hidden within this stone and so many inanimate objects that we consider as dead or non living? And yet these objects have the power to transform our lives, such as the crystal in our televisions and computers etc. The water is a digital effect that for me is symbolic as representing the question of what lies within or beneath the exterior surface of any living or non living thing - and it also represents my feelings that continue to arise as I wonder about this! :-)
Life is a fascinating journey as we discover the magic of life and the magic of the life within all things!
