Description

This is a painting that I did one Christmas when I found myself alone due to family traveling interstate. My painting this was in honour of Xmas and particularly of one of my favourite Xmas carols Silent Night. The image was originally done in watercolour with drops of colour added in a wet on wet technique in amongst the blue night sky colour. The shapes were allowed to find their own space in this artwork which I liked. This effectively allowed the painting to paint itself in a sense and to a degree. Towards the center of this image I see a dancing figure which for me represent the joy of Xmas - and which was created spontaneously through my using the wet on wet free flowing technique.
