Description
A watercolor painting of mine of a couple of Banksia seed pods and parts of branches of the banksia tree that they came from. Banksia trees are Australian native trees that are very hardy growing in the Australian hot summers. The have bottle brush like flowers and when these die off the seed pods are left which sometimes fall to the ground.....such as these.
Here I have attempted to capture lines and shapes through the use of a minimal approach, while at the same time enhancing all these qualities through the use of light, shade and color in an abstract setting, created through a digital medium. Although this is a realistic image never the less it has abstract or semi abstract qualities which appeal to me. Also the soft colors seem to add an aura of mystery to the simplicity of this artwork.....a hint of something more than cannot be seen!

A very beautiful image - even though I have never heard of Banksia seed pods - it has very interesting lines and nice page placement!
