Description
This was originally a pencil drawing I did while spending time with my 9 yr old grandson 7 years ago. The drawing was done whilst he and I were drawing together and using one of his colouring books for inspiration. I really enjoyed the special time we had together and my daughter liked the result so much, that she laminated this drawing and put it up on the kitchen wall area for all to see. Some years late I took my camera over to her place and took a photo of this drawing, bought it home, uploaded it onto my pc and then proceeded to add colour and digital effects through the use of a digital medium. I really love the end result and feel an almost spiritual vibe as I look at this.
I called it "Across the Universe" for various reasons. Firstly I remembered the myth of how the turtle was thought to carry the earth upon its back and then the song from the Beetles inspired this title as well, since this turtle seemed to float across the universe/space. Luv the blue in this as it accentuates the feeling of myth, dreaming and spirituality for me. There's a real esoteric quality to this end product that could create a special feel of relaxation, space as it uplifts and transcends the ordinary.
