Description
This was a drawing done by me a long time ago. At this time I was experimenting a lot with my styles, including free form drawings or doodles. I enjoyed the process of interpretation through my doodling, especially using my Jungian dream work understanding in some instances, since these kind of drawings seemed much more connected to my unconscious self.
This drawing seems to me to celebrate both anima and animus or feminine and masculine. Both seem happy and seem to be celebrating some aspect of a new freedom gained at that time in my life. The numbers 6 and 7 in this are important to me as 6 is my life number and 7 is the number representing for me healing and the spiritual. Up in the right hand corner is a drawing of community living and sharing, which feels related to my everyday life at the time. The rest seems to me to be an expression of freedom and more related to the feminine, which makes sense to me now, considering my own gender.
I feel this male could represent my animus or inner male, while the women in this could represent aspects of my own inner anima or feminine. The energy in this feels joyous to me, as well as relatively balanced. The male figure in this seems to be heralding in something important and the stone he carries under his arm seems to be an important part of that. This is why I've called this Spirit in Matter, since this drawing seems to be full of symbols that relate to my spirituality somehow; and the stone reminds me of the Ten Commandments stone tablet from the old testament. Much of this drawing still remains a mystery to me, but the mystery produces a feeling of fun and playfulness within. The unknown often beckons me and keeps life interesting for me at the same time.
