This was originally a photo taken of my favourite spot outside on my balcony,. It's been looking so lovely lately with begonia flowering now in spring and croton with it's stunning colourful leaves. There's an Asparagus fern in the corner and don't know what green large leaf plant is in the front right hand corner. Behind hanging on the glassed wall is an old artistic looking bronze word decoration with bells and saying 'LOVE'. I really like the sense of story and history of my balcony plants as some of them are over 20 yrs old. The older plants have traveled with me from where I previously lived - and given that I live in a suburban area in a big city, as well as in a top floor unit, this balcony space is quite precious to me. The layout has been done almost quite intuitively by me over time, which in turn has helped create a sense of magic, romance and a bit of mystery. This is part of why I felt inspired to create this as a type of semi abstract and almost surreal image with colours distorted by the heart overlay. (Love can do that :-)) I'm so happy to have been able to create something a bit different with this photo and I feel I have helped enhance the magic or bring it out through the use of digital effects.
