Description
The original drawing of a cave in an Australian national park I did of this was done in pencil and then before I framed it and gave it away as a gift, I redrew it again in pen while I was sick in bed with flue. I was listening to some wonderful classical music while drawing this and the lines of the cave were done in rhythmic motion in time to the music's rhythm. When I look at the original pen drawing I'm always reminded of this special musical and creative experience. I am also reminded of the beauty and ambience of this special place, the sandstone sculptured rock within the cave, with an almost lacy effect in part due to wind and rain erosion. The feeling of sitting within the cave and the feeling of being at one with nature; the view of the Australian bushland outside with boulders, trees and the wildness of it all. Such a wonderful memory for which I'm grateful for.
Anyway my original blue pen(biro) drawing photo is already on my FAA site and this is the same drawing, but with digital media enhancements added through darkening the lines and turning the appearance of this drawing into a black and white rather than a blue pen drawing.
I recreated this because I felt it needed a virtual uplift and because of my memory of how this drawing was created.
I was in the Blue Mountains national park in Sydney visiting the property in bushland of a friend of mine. We'd gone on a walk down the back of the large property and came across this amazing sandstone cave. I sat inside the cave and drew what I saw, wanting to capture the beauty and ambience of this amazing and beautiful place. So the darkening of this image is to create more drama and to try and increase the feeling of depth of being inside the cave and looking out. Hopefully I have succeeded in this.
The Blue Mountains of Sydney NSW Australia are part of a national heritage park and are a very popular tourist site because of the wonderful bushland, mountains and other special sites.......as well as the Three Sisters of course.
