Description
This is a photopainting done from another one of my artworks/photographs on this site called Against All Odds. In this photo I've used a digital medium to try and accentuate the processes that may have gone on while the root system of an Australian native tree grew through virtual rock in order to survive at the side of the Hawksbury River in NSW Australia. Through the digital medium I've tried to bring the rock to life as the tree root system squeezes its way through and between......virtually where ever it can grow. I've added a posterizing effect to the whole image in the process of trying to give this image more life and feel I've succeeded in that. As I look at this image I can empathise with the struggles of this tree; the struggles that have not doubt gone on for a very long time. Yet still above the rock and root system the Australian gum tree stands beautifully proud and tall......which never ceases to amaze me when ever I visit this place!
